Every day I make a drawing inspired by what I am wearing. This page archives the drawings from the first year of the project.
My drawing is always about the power of time, as I journey through it every day in a never changing direction and speed. Dress Code is a project which attempts to harness the ways that the days continue to follow each other, one after the other; unstoppable. It is a journal of what I wear each day – not in a ‘realistic’ or documentary way – but a fluid emotional extension of the creative activity of getting dressed in the morning. Each morning; every morning.
The way I dress is code for a rich diversity of experiences. This blog is a celebration of drawing as a daily response to that richness.
Normally these drawings are individual sheets, ranging in materials and approach in ways that reflect the fluctuations of my life. In the past few months I have been travelling, so the drawings are in books.
